| MISSION AND VISION The Orange Blossom Blues Society, Inc. exists to preserve, promote and present Blues music to the Orlando Region. The Orange Blossom Blues Society seeks to provide education, awareness and support for all Blues music past, present and future. We provide a forum for members to network with other like minded members, and we support venues that join with us to promote Blues music. We value both diversity and unity within the Blues genre of music. We welcome all who support our mission, but by it's very nature, the Orange Blossom Blues Society focuses it's efforts specifically on Blues music, dedicated Blues musicians and supporting OBBS members. |

The IBC has evolved into the nation’s largest and most respected showcases for Blues musicians ready to take their act to the national stage. The IBC can be described as a “Battle of the Bands” in which competitors take the stage and play a short 20 minute set for a panel of judges—judged on Blues content, Talent, Originality and Stage presence. The IBC represents an international search by The Blues Foundation and it’ s Affiliated Organizations (comprised mostly of blues societies) for the Blues Band and Solo/Duo Blues Act deemed ready to perform on a national stage that just need that extra break. The list of blues greats that have competed in the IBC over the years is impressive indeed: Michael Burks, Tommy Castro, Albert Cummings, Delta Moon, Larry Garner, Diunna Greenleaf, Zac Harmon, Richard Johnston, Matthew Skoller, Susan Tedeschi, Watermelon Slim, the late John Weston and Michelle Wilson. |
